I think you’ll find the same thing happened in the wake of the GFC... everything gets sold as people look to shore up cash to fill margin calls. Add the irrationality of these events and people also tend to throw the baby out with the bath water as well adding to it all.
We are now sitting at a 50-60% chance of a %1 cut to the fed funds rate at there meeting next week (18th) plus all the desperate money printing happening and to come... Gold stocks will have to catch up to fair value soon enough.
