Directors should be paid according to results, not effort. He can run a triathlon for all I care, but if that doesn't help the company then IMO he isn't deserving of a salary higher than the Prime Minister.
All he has done is gotten us back to square one. He doesn't even hold shares (lucky him) and we are the ones who keep paying. So tell me again how the $750k is justified?
