The tables below were previous bottle roll leach recovery rates based on different composite samples of Van Uden ore.
Only one sample failed to get to 90% within the 48-hour testing window (but the sub-piece of that sample tested at 8 hours was good). Most samples were in the 80%'s if not over 90% by the 8 hour mark. When aggregated, all the samples were 92% or higher at 24 hours. Some samples were getting 97 and 98% recovery rates. Getting these results does require crushing the ore to P80 type sizes (the sort of size used for lithium flotation) and it may improve the commercial's to have a larger crush size and lower recovery rates.
The report commentary within para 7.1.1 was: "the test results indicate that a 92% (or better) gold recovery was achieved in all the tests carried out."
Personally, I was thinking that with test results reliably above 90%, using a 90% assumption was conservative but there may be an industry bias in bottle leach test results to mill results I'm not aware of. Clearly TG6 will need to do their own met test work and make adjustments for any known test to mill result adjustment.
