Thanks for your detailed note, and I agree with you that given the competitive position in ANZ, CCP are well placed to pick up businesses albeit slightly delayed given banks will have to assess where everybody (incl themselves) stand wrt loans that are in arrears. The US is where I see growth as lenders will be quite aggressive in getting those loans off their balance sheets sooner rather than later.
I do have a couple questions on AASB9; I thought the standard forced the companies to apply a standard amortisation rate based on the age of the PDL (as opposed to their own model). As a holder of CLH, they reported an increase in revenues/profits as their amortisation assumption was higher than the one AASB assigned to them at June19.
If CCP was conservative, should this have not created a profit as well when they changed over to AASB9?
