What this debacle shows is the incompetence of the LNP Government.
Given that the 32% tax rate was introduced by Joe Hockey who refused to listen to the concerns of everyone from the Tourism Councils to the National Farmers Federation. Then, seeing that there plan was badly flawed the government deferred the tax changes for 6 months. Now they have had months to negotiate but not wanting to be seen to giving in to the ALP they thought they could ignore them and direct the cross benches to support them. But to their huge embarrassment they had to join up with their arch enemies the greens - after spending an extra $100 million to buy their support.
What a debacle for the government. A complete stuff up for the government and the National Party.
