I agree with your analysis. Another way to estimate the fall and if it's worth it to enter after the fall is the comparison between the inflation as mirrored at the term deposits rate vs the dividend yield of ASX 100 or ASX 200.
As an indication the inflation rate in USA is currently 7% while the dividend yield for S&P500 is only 1.25%. This means that if the commercial banks offer a term deposit rate of say 5% then DY of SPY must at least reach 5%...you can estimate how much the shares must fall...
