From what I understand with XPed technology is that it doesn't need to be cloud based or internet based to work...
You can use it with a smart phone.....
If you have smart appliances you just need to tap and connect to the smart appliance..
If you have dumb appliances then you will need a hub but can still connect to all of your old dumb appliances without replacing them....
It doesn't matter who the manufacturer is for the appliance , smart or dumb...
That's how I have read it... Correct me if I am wrong..
