Why is the board travelling?, page-218

This thread is a classic example of how people find it so difficult to pay attention and/or stay focused on the crux of a matter.

The thread was commenced to propose that the Board's ( or, more correctly, 3 members of the Board) travelling to US was suggestive of imminent key developments in contracting etc. This proposal met with a good deal of approbation, with more than 80 TU being received.

Then a pedant came out of the wood work to suggest that 'the Board' was not travelling to US because only some members of the Board were involved and because of the wording in the announcement, including a 'reading between the lines' assumption that the announcement only intended to refer to companies 'located' in the US.

Others then invoked an incorrect reading of grammar to support their argument that the pedant was wrong both in their assumptions and conclusions.

So until just the last few posts, the discussion was NOT about grammar. Instead, it was about something of considerable importance to the evolution of the company over the next week or two - whether or not half the Board were or were not in the US, at least in part to execute commercial collaborations and/or contracts.

That critical possibility remains - and should be a focus of interest - irrespective of anything said about grammar and comprehension.
