    clearly the IEA is referring to baseload generation which excludes renewable energy production

    How do you figure we can work without BASE LOAD power? Right now fossil fuel is meeting 73% of demand, with the sun setting fast.

    No one denies that nuclear power stations are a big investment and they must be financed in one hit. To get a proper return on that investment they must be allowed to do what they do best - keep on going. To spend this money and then wind it up and down as the wind blows, or not, is folly.
