I learnt something new for me the other day. That part of NSW is a Commonwealth Government territory with connections to the Australian Capital Territory. The idea being that the ACT (back in the old'n days) should have their own port and connecting rail line which never got built. Apparently the area has pristine beaches and a marine park. Probably make an ideal site for a nuclear reactor, enrichment facility and nuclear dump.
