This is an excellent discussion point. Why is there no looting in Japan.
Here are some observations:
Hurricane Katrina - widespread looting and crime Haiti earthquake - looting and gang warfare New Zealand - some minor looting reported Great Britain - leave your bike outside and its gone in 60 secs. Stockholm - people routinely leave their bikes unchained in the street (though this behaviour is changing) Japan - Little looting or violence so far, widespread solidarity observed Queensland Floods - not sure what happened here?
