I don't disagree with the sentiment (in terms of ensuring that we treat poor and desperate people better), and yes I did not invest in this company for it to become a Serco type company whose whole business model is to get as many people through their doors to make a profit......and offshore detention is an absolute travesty for both the individuals and the taxpayers

I don't see CTD involved in anything along those lines - they explicitly have indicated they were not involved in Rwanda option that the tories were trying to launch, and there is no indication that the services they are providing are sub-standard. I've resolved myself with this investment on the basis that it appears there are over 300,000 refugees and asylum seekers in the UK, and what CTD is doing is providing a service to the Govt to provide housing and shelter to these people.......I suspect that this was likely to be post providing some service to evacuate & house a large number of Ukrainians after the war started.

Is it corporate travel....certainly not, but is it leveraging their abilities & skillset to provide a platform to organise the movement and finding housing of thousands of people on a fluid basis....yes. It's likely that CTD has set up a team to work with the home office to coordinate all of this (as opposed to a corporate just using their platform), but my point is that the UK govt has to provide this basic service (just as the Aus govt needs to), and if CTD can leverage their platform to provide a value added service to the taxpayer than why not (I would rather this than the govt handing out a no tender contract to some shell company with 3 staff who then subcontract everything out as they have done in Manus & Nauru).

Anyway, as I said, although not ideal, I don't believe that CTD deserves the taint of profiting off desperate people......we can agree to disagree and perhaps if you feel very strongly, there are 1000s of other companies that have different ESG filters.
