SingTel "Optus" giving back their service and their App for the European Football "World Cup" to subscribers free of charge and the TV rights to the other public broadcaster in Australia seems a very good move.
Now TLS should try to get subscribers to their FoxTel loss making service for free to increase advertising revenue.
Pity those poor unintelligent minority of subscribers of FoxTel that actually pay money for subscription television in Australia when it would be better for TLS if it was bundled and provided for free as part of TLS mobile subscriptions.
Poor TLS strategy, disastrous loss making operations and now apparently 8000 employees take the wrap for poor decisions like charging people for FoxTel.
It is a bit like the banks and the Royal Commission re fees. How can a telco and a news provider, NWS, charge people for a service that is 20% of the cost elsewhere in the world.
In NYC where we have Verizon, FoxTel would probably be bundled and even if it did cost something it would probably be about $7.30 USD or $5.00 AUD.
So when will TLS provide FoxTel for free?
