Any Australian Government is perpetually focused on re-election, thats the only reason why we have government in Australia, so they can be re-elected and that means they are toxicly averse to taking any kind of actual risk or leading on anything productive for the Australian society, could affect the optics for re-election. So it goes that when other western governments have taken a position on an opportunity and risk, the Australian Government dejour is solidly there stepping up to the challange of whatever the opportunity is, because then its not going to be their fault IF the opportunity turns bad, it will be someone elses.

Best to just wait so we can follow with certanty.
