I also do think that Malaysia truly wants to develop into a knowledge economy based around engineering and materials science. The government is currently investing a lot of cash having 100s of smart young Malaysians coming to Australia etc. carrying out PhDs in these fields. These people return to their home country. Too bad politics gets in the way all too often.
