Well I'm of Chinese descent and throughout school I've seen it all the time. Imagine being taught when growing up your race is wrong and you shouldn't be proud of who you are or where you come from and that you must bow down for the sake of progression. The more white your skin the less privilege you have.
As an Asian you get treated as a "soft white" since you are stereotypically high achieving you can go sort yourself out. However if your skin is darker than chestnut brown you get given all the opportunities in the world and you still have no one applying for positions in jobs (check all the aboriginal/torres strait jobs most of them have 0 applied)
