Times have changed for the better, miles better, in those days children were unaware of their rights, they were not told that they had any, as children are today , they were expected to be respectful to older people, address people who were 21 years old as "Mr / Mrs /Miss never first name basis, children were told to only speak when they are spoken to, and not have an opinion, to speak out or object to anything was seen as being "cheeky"---and no doubt at all , adults took advantage of this fact-----I like most parents now, encourage their children that they do have rights like anyone else! ----
