The effect which females in a class have on modifying the grott factor of young males was very effective. The boys learned they could still interact and tease the girls without the girls being offended as they could answer back and laugh. It always seemed a far healthier classroom when they were aged 14-17, than an all-boys' class of the same age. I taught "The Taming of the Shrew" (Shakespearian play) to one such classroom and it was an opportunity for both the boys and girls to thorough enjoy the play while, at the same time, throw across barbs at each other throughout. Both teacher and my class had a great time with this play. We watched a video production of this play as well. If you know this play, you would understand why it worked so well in my Year 10 class. The film made of this play was "Kiss Me Kate".

After my office experiences over a six year period, I took a male type degree - Economics - I thought I needed to beat males at their own game or be at least as good as them. However, I am very aware that there are many, many, many males who would never behave as the Mr Burke's of this world. With males, I have always managed to sift the wheat from the wheat from the chaff (discarding the latter). lol.
