That's not entirely true. I bought my first lot at 5c knowing the engineering samples would be back in a couple of months. Then we got ford, valeo, which gave me confidence. Then the EAP started. That was all around 10-15c. Then the NASA rumours started which increased confidence. Then the rumours were confirmed.
There was lots of benefits in the fundamentals in the early days.
