Back in 2008, VW was the company that posed idiosyncratic risk because of it's short position taken by banks and hedge funds, it was VW that kick started the 2008 meltdown. There was a huge short position in the company and the family who own Porsche saw the situation and bought up as many shares as they could forcing a short squeeze, which saw the value of VW skyrocket and become the richest company in the world for a brief period.Today, we have literally hundreds, if not thousands of companies in a similar situation, if even a couple are squeezed, I believe it will be catastrophic.....for everyone.

40% of Chinese wealth is tied up in real estate, the biggest construction companies...(plural) .....are bankrupt, 65 million units sit unfinished, bank runs already in China, Evergrande bonds are used as collateral with many US banks and Hedge funds. Evergrande bonds are also used as collateral in Tether, if this is compromised and Tether de pegs from the USD you will see BTC and all other crypto's collapse, as we see is whats happening now, but we are not deep into it yet.

IMO only I think we are teetering on wide scale and deep economic failure, across the board, even gold will be hammered because of how its tied up it ETF's and derivatives. The timing of this is uncertain, the event is not.
