From reading a lot I am starting to realise that NOT accepting could have caused some shareholders to complain/take action etc. Perhaps there are many that a few cents gain over a short time is/was their purpose of purchase and a quick take over was exactly what they wanted. Perhaps all part of the 2.74 game that went on for weeks.
I am guessing that this would have caused issues and been problematic to deal with. Maybe even giving things to ALB.
So to prevent this the board came up with conditions that cannot be sensibly met. Plus a few wines with friends came up with a plan to ensure it failed. I can't believe that ALB expected that they would succeed.
Nothing beats a cunning plan.
