The invisible economic hand, why is the Iphone made in China?
Why are all the engineering equipment that i source for Australian Resources Project coming from India, China and fabricational work carried out in SE Asia?
Sure Australian Labor force is damn good in term of productivity and quality BUT keep in mind in other ASX companies their shareholders are demanding profits profits profits which in term makes the management source their labour and equipment as cheap as possible while still forfilling engineering standards requirement.
The more the Australian dollar falls the more it is better for the Australian economy the sooner the AUD falls to 80c and below the more competitive/attractive the Australian Labor force will become.
Also during the boom times rich investors overseas for example China got pissed off with the Labor Union calling on constant rolling strikes. I am not saying the cause or reason of why they are striking is wrong but what it does do is it pisses of the Countries investing in us as strikes causes lost of money in terms of cost of the project, delayed project completion and missing out on future earnings. They then had enough and take their money else where and invest in another country like Brazil and Australian jobs suffer.
Oh which reminds me, sounds abit like demand destruction isn't it? Demand destruction in terms of Labor is too expensive, project is too expensive , I will stop and look elsewhere until its cheaper.
