"This means that your beloved company is going to be selling its own stock on market hand over fist for two years to fund the trial."

My "beloved company"?? I think you must have me confused with someone else. Maybe that explains your strangely antagonistic responses to my posts?

What is it with this forum? I'm getting accused of being in love with MSB and of being a downramper/shorter at the same time! FWIW, I have had no financial interest in MSB either way since almost 5 years ago, and I am certainly not in love with them.

As for your failure to see the parallels between my analogy and the current MSB situation, that's okay, I know analogies are not for everyone.

Getting back to the subject at hand, you're still ignoring the fact that under its inherited deal with MSB, Teva was on the hook to pay up to US$1.7 billion in milestone payments, plus fund a second Phase III trial that hasn't started yet (in addition to completing the existing trial), plus eventually pay royalties as high as 40% (apparently). When you add all these costs up, I don't think the total is peanuts, even to Teva.
