BHP is today paying the largest dividend in Australian corporate history - about $30Billion.
Why, at 1:13pm as I post this, has it not yet announced to the ASX what value the dividend will be?

Just to be clear, I am not asking anyone here to give me their calculation of that dividend, or quote to me the principles that will determine the dividend (BHP announced those more than a month ago); what I am asking is why BHP has not announced the two numbers (div and franking credit per share) to the market prior to opening bell this morning?
