"Transnet coal division GM Divyesh Kalan told the Coaltrans conference that Transnet aimed to increase its coal line capacity to 81-million tons and that it was on track to achieve that target by 2015.

Transnet is expected to call on the private sector to join it in improving capacities, efficiencies and volumes along South Africa’s export corridors, and is developing strategic options to fund additional rail infrastructure.

The longer-term rail investment includes plans to connect South Africa’s emerging Waterberg coalfield to the export corridors over the next five to ten years."
