Much like all distractions of youth, the isolated thrill of victory which may result from succumbing to an attractive temptation is very often overwhelmed by subsequent realities which are the agony of defeat when you believe too much in your own publicity and perhaps revisit - what you have convinced yourself is - the “well of plenty” too many times in search of that next thrill.
As I’ve aged I’ve come to appreciate more and more that the reliable “old girl” brings comforting stability by knowing there’s a very good chance she’ll still be there tomorrow and we’ll grow old together. I get the feeling SSM will take its place in this category.
But, I still find room for a couple of specs just in case !
