I agree that the currency is a major issue. I think the RBA went too far with it's rate increases over 2009 - 2010 and has damaged demand in the economy. Mortgage rates up, the retail industry has been suffering terribly.
They seem reluctant to do so but I hope they will reduce a bit which will give some breathing space for the economy and make people a bit more confident to spend.
If it means a bit of inflation so be it, the high exchange rate and lack of consumer confidence is slowly choking the economy.
