    Interesting isn't it?

    The shades of grey between protectionism (unacceptable) and govt bail-out (seemingly acceptable).

    However, even if you discount any political or national interest motivations surely it makes sense good economic sense to invest in our second tier mining sector now and reap the benefits as soon as base-metals see an upturn.

    Future Fund etc have been put forward as a solution. The ex- NAB MD has just been appointed today as the CEO of a new National Fund looking for investments for the good of the nation. Let's point him in the right direction!
