Unfortunately for longer term holders (like myself) who have already rolled the dice multiple times on HGO in the past, a Divi' (while nice), runs a distant second to meeting the company goal of being a significant player in the base and precious metals game - and lifting the SP somewhere near its historic levels of (in my case) 7-8 years back. Fanciful, maybe, but certainly very do-able with an decent extension of project life through successful exploration and a good outcome from the PHES bidding.
I have learnt to take a cautious approach to "forward looking statements" !
I must say though, I do take some degree of "comfort" from management's statements - that any avenues going forward would be carefully analysed against the base case of simply returning cash to shareholders, in short they promise not to squander investors money on long shots or simply provide an ongoing shell to "look after" management and workers. Some tough decisions could lie ahead. Lets hope a couple of cracking drill holes (and PHES bids) make the decisions a lot easier !
