Well AGL should try and sell that better quality bituminous coal in the world markets then. Don't they burn about 8 megatons of that stuff each year just to produce energy for NEM? I reckon they should just direct some of that stuff to the world markets cause it's gold at the moment.
Looking at google maps those sites appear to have rail transport to the Newcastle Coal Port terminal as well.
So logistics wise, shouldn't be too much of an issue.
$418USD per tonne X 8 Megatonnes. Alot of money if you asked me. AGL's market cap?
The floods will subside soon and things will be back to normal. Coal prices will remain elevated because I don't see Russia coming back selling coal to the world markets anytime soon.
