My take on this timely asset write down announcement is to release the bad news first, give the market time to to assess it's significance in the current climate, then just prior to the lifting of the trade suspension - release the sound news that Prominent Hill is operational and has been for a good two weeks with some additional stimulus addressing potential earning capacity on extrapolating earnings to date. Not to mention the update on paying off current debt obligations.
Just what the market will need prior to coming out of a prolonged trading halt.
Announcements are best used as timely instruments to get that stock price to hold or may surprise with a massive buy in with favorable news releases.
