I think there are varied reasons as to why one starts to smoke
1. Parents do/did
2. To be 'cool'
3. Curiosity
4. Subliminal ie. movies, magazines etc
5. Because you got drunk
People continue to smoke because at some stage it becomes an addiction.
I used to smoke up to 2 packs of Winfield blues a day. I have not smoked for over 12 years now and do not miss it. (I have the occasional water pipe and that is all. Very rare though)
I began because of number 3, which was instigated because of number 5.
I did not go on patches or hypnotherapy. Giving up smoking is very possible and difficult at times.
You have the power to stop whenever you choose.
Do not cut down, do not have lame excuses for starting again.
Make a decision to stop and stick to it.
Your life can change whenever you choose it to.
