Too right. The rules are as they are and there's only one thing to do if you don't like them - sell out and find another way to make money either from the sweat off somebody else's labour or capital. 

I'm sure that 99% of investors start with simple LT views (as did I), ignore the warnings (can't lose!) and are caught off guard by the unexpected realities, whether it's shares, property or small business, but you either persevere or give up. No successful investor wins every time but when you lose, you can learn the lesson and carry on, as painful as that can be, or ignore it altogether. You only get wise by accepting your own ignorance.

I don't have a moral or ethical opinion on shorting and I don't waste time or energy trying to formulate one. Good luck all and I hope fossil fuels go the way of the dinosaurs before we do.
