It's a laugh when the deniers use the excuse that we're stuffed anyway, why bother to do anything ? That has to be the weakest excuse, ever.
If you apply that logic to anything else in life, it is laughable.
I'm sure the deniers still go to the doctor, and when the doctor gives them a diagnosis, they take the doctors advice.
I'm sure the deniers still fly on planes, relying on the scientists and engineers that designed and built them.
In fact, the deniers are happy to use fossil fuel in all its forms, which was invented and developed by scientists.
So now, when scientists say that we need to reduce emissions, the deniers scoff.
You make a salient point about subsidies.
Even after a century, fossil is still subsidised. And yet, the coal trolls try and use the subsidy argument against renewables. It is true that renewables have and do attract subsidies. As does many new industries.
It is also true that those subsidies are being reduced or removed as that technology matures. It has become a critical design factor for renewables that they can provide power at a competitive price without subsidy. China itself has a policy on this now.
Can't wait for the next denier excuse. Aliens maybe ?
