Thing is those that are interested in saving the environment have looked at nuclear and decided that it isn't good enough.
Too expensive, too polluting, too long to build, not flexible, enables nuclear weapons, can't find anywhere to build them, too much waste that we can't get rid of.
That's why environmentalists aren't interested in nuclear. The renewable alternative is just better.
