I thought the same thing when I read david25s post, and
as I get down to your post you said it.
I was in front of the guy who caused the banter and whilst he may have a point, the manner was a little too agressive!
If you speak to the directors in a civil tongue, which i did, you will get an explanation of why it was done and with the benefit of hindsight we could all have made better decisions in our lives.
I was told that in hindsight maybe they should have given 3 cents and kept the rest for development but they didn't think they were going to go underground and when they found more gold and went underground they needed the extra capital as insurance if something went wrong.
They are not the only company to make an error, BHP have spent about 1 billion dollars on failed ventures in recent years and if a mistake means giving the shareholders some money back then big deal!
