Shiggy the rounds in the video certainly weren't HE, and in the release from metalstorm which I have just re read the only reference to HE is this:-

"Metal Storm Limited is pleased to announce that it has set a new record for the speed at
which it can fire 40mm grenades. On Friday, during firing tests toward its STORM40
grenade ammunition qualification, the Company achieved burst-firing rates of over 10,000
rounds per minute (rpm) from a single barrel."

AND THIS,

"but we can also increase our total High Explosive firepower before reload by at least 50%"

From that, I take it that they can fire HE but it doesn't say they were in this case.

I also have some DVD's given to shareholders years ago by metalstorm which show these rates of fire and with that goes the high velocity,

by the way high velocity can also be achieved in a single shot firing as well as the double tap effect, they just fire more than one propellant load whilst the projectile is still in the barrel.

One thing I can say Routine is that metalstorm never reference anything to what the DSTO do, not in the last few years anyway and especially anything to do with mach 5/50 firings, don't know why that is but it is.
