Siemens wants our tech as early detection is the ONLY real treatment for cancer. Radiation therapy and chemo only work at an early stage to shrink the tumor, ease symptoms and possibly kill enough cancer cells to stop it metastasizing. At a late stage they just give the patient extra time alive albeit a pretty crappy extra few years. If IBX can develop their contrast agent to be a "one for all" type without having to be specific about which cancer they're targetting, then that's when the real breakthrough will happen. Siemens will wait to see if it works on specific cancers then develop it in to this "one for all". If this were to happen then the tech could be part of annual medicals for people with cancer in their family and the number of doses used worldwide would skyrocket. But we won't ever see that as IBX will no longer exist, we will be consumed.
