Yum Brands (American based listed company) which provides for Collins Foods to open the Taco Bell Stores, reports the regions sales as part of their reporting. Was mentioned in a webinar that each new store opened in Australia outsells the previously opened store. The highest daily sales taking by a Taco Bell Store anywhere in the world on opening day is held by the Australian Taco Bell stores.
If you are Melbourne or Queensland based, I strongly recommend you go to a store and see the consistent flow of traffic which comes in. I believe Collins Foods keeps the reporting of the Taco Bell stores in 'consolidated earnings' as to not let other potential facisee the opportunity to see how much each store is making, if others knew they would be hitting up Yum Brands for the rights in other Australian States.
The delay in the rolling out of new stores in Victoria is COVID related, as you can imagine, no one is building anything in Victoria during these lockdown times. However, 3 stores are underway in Melbourne on top of the 2 which are already open.
I feel this short video of the Taco Bell on the gold coast sums up the support the brand has here in Australia. I don't see anyone lining up out the front of McDonalds.
