Why so long between updates?

Imugene was once my highest conviction biotech, but several others have overtaken IMU in that regard.

One thing I don't quite understand is why we don't get more frequent updates on trial patient results. I understand that a data cut is time consuming and expensive. But surely that's not required in order to update the market.

They're open label trials. We don't need regular updates of the stats (such as survival times etc), but just some of the results achieved in patients.

What's to stop them asking trial sites to alert them to any CRs and PRs (which surely management are aware of already), and once confirmed announce them to the market. Some other biotechs seem to do this.

Other than the time/cost excuse, I've also heard some mentions of the FDA restricting how results can be announced. This also seems strange. It's an open label trial. Once a CR or PR is confirmed by a doctor, why not announce it?
