re: company update on the following then Bringitere , according to some posters on sharescene who went to the latest meeting in June , there had been some initial administration problems with the hospital , and a meeting with the hospital had been scheduled to iron out the problems . They are not as slow as you may think . Most phase 1 trials take a year or so . These trials are not just one injection like the ACU trials for instance . They are full on , with the patients being treated for hours every day for 5 days , 2 days off , 5 days on then a week off and the whole cycle is repeated four times for a total of 12 weeks per patient . The dose is increased over the term of the trial as safety at each level is established . This trial protocol means that patients cannot be recruited all at once . The data gathered here will allow them to go straight into a phase 2b trial saving time in the long run .
There has been a lot of good news released by the company lately . For instance in the letter to option holders on June24 stated that he had been approached by MOST of the large pharmaceutical companies at the BIO2004 in San Francisco , and in continuing discussions with all of them . Some of those companies have research budgets many times bigger than the market value of Solbec .
On June15 they announced that the distinguished accademic Professor John Papadimitriou had joined the board . He has been awarded the Order of Australia for his service medical research and community . His subsequent review of the companies science and data , reported on July22 said he was impressed . He also confirmed that the base technology could support a platform of potential uses . Technology secured by patents already granted to Solbec or with applications pending .
Why this stock is so cheap I do not know . I just hope the true value of it is not realised as it passes into foreign hands .
Cheers .
