    Simply put, price climbs ahead of scheduled announcements in anticipation that it's 'the one' this announcement wasn't it. Hence people pulled their money back out.

    If you do some homework on previous 3 month cycles(have a look at some announcments and then what the price did immediately after) with it you'll see a pretty clear pattern emerge.
