My issue is more with the outgoing Chair, David Hearn, and former management figures such as Peter Nathan. They showed complacency and a lack of risk management by relying so heavily on daigou.
I am happy to cop any flack for saying this but I think Bortolussi has performed well in shifting the company away from that reliance. I can list a lot of things the company could be doing better, but the new management has corrected the strategy and delivered on its initial goals so far.
Some people expect to somehow magically return to pre COVID growth and margins even when daigou is no longer in the mix. Anyone who expects that is going to have unrealistic growth and SP expectations IMO.
I am judging the CEO performance firstly on bringing the company back to revenue growth after a complete disaster, and then secondly on generating sustainable growth over the longer term. He's accomplished the first and earnt his FY22 remuneration in my book. The second is yet to be determined, just my view DYOR
