"Why would anyone change the personal noun to an impersonal form?"
It does take some time to line up all scripture with their doctrine, which is a real challenge when consideration is given to their need to correct their founder who justified worshiping Jesus.
Oh, and the reason for the change - the personal noun is an inconvenience to their doctrine.
