warnings of hell and damnation to non believers
----------
u812, the Greek word hades which is the same as the Hebrew word sheol has been mistranslated as hell in a number of places in the KJV Bible. They simply mean the common grave of mankind.
Hades
A Greek word corresponding to the Hebrew word “Sheol.” It is translated “Grave” (capitalized), to distinguish it as the common grave of mankind.
(Jeremiah 7:31) They have built the high places of Toʹpheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinʹnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, something that I had not commanded and that had never even come into my heart.’
The idea of burning people is repugnant to Jehovah.
