Article in the WSJ yesterday about how Amazon Prime Video's new ad-tier has forced existing TV networks and Netflix to cut prices they charge for ads in the US. Apparently, Prime Video ads are very attractive to advertisers, due to being able to tap into a person's entire Amazon purchase history to show ads for products that would appeal to that person in particular.
Prime Video here in Australia will begin showing ads next month. Could that potentially take ad dollars away from the FTA broadcasters here?
