Most people talking up the price of gold are actually invested in mining paper and we know how that's been going.

With ETF's and Perth Mint certs/deposits/warrants there's viable easy alternatives to physical now which means no more weak proxy in mining co paper - which is easy to deal with but too many steps removed from actual gold.

They keep talking up gold hoping that the mining scrip will catch up.

What they don't realise is that there are now different ways to invest in gold now (compared to the 80s) that are more secure than mining paper and just as easy to use.
