    of all the aged care facilities I've worked at the worst, the ones that provided the least care from staff and things like incontinence pads and wound care, were the religious. the Catholic nursing homes, even back in the 80's knew well how to fix the dependency ratings that govts used to measure the funding required. they would used wheelchairs (actually commode chairs) to reduce ambulation and urodomes (like a condom with a tube at the end to attach to a urine collection bag) at the very first sign of incontinence, which promoted bladder infections.

    but the very worst was a Masonic unit. no care at all no monitoring of patients at high risk of falling, no attempt to assist dementia patients. a very dangerous place to work.
