You make some good points and I do apologise for the sweetheart comment. I'm an avid fan of the barefoot investor in fact it should be required reading in high school to hopefully put a stop to what I call kleptocratic lending policies by banks of all denominations and their offshoots BNPL INCLUDED. Used wisely credit cards and BNPL are fine and a legitimate use of interest free money especially in business however humans being what they are people get caught short and catch the people least likely to repay the debt and it ruins lives.
In yesterday's AFR I see CBA's KLARNA have entered the market undercutting APT and ZIP although having tougher credit checks . Old news but now they are getting serious and once they get their nose in the trough you can bet the house they'll screw the customer.
Instead of consumer credit why not invest that money in long term indexed funds and actually make money?
