Let's face it there are always lot's of reasons given when the share price goes down. In the last week of July when the SP went down there were many comments that is was because some mysterious nameless institutions were getting rid of their shares before the end of the month so that they didn't need to report them internally and that they would buy them again in the first week of August sending the share price back up again. Guess what, it didn't happen. Can this theory be dismissed now? These companies have a lot of internal regulations and compliance obligations and will be endlessly audited so to think that a department could just get away with buying shares in coal companies throughout the month and sell them by the end of the month and breach company requirements and get away with it is difficult to believe.
